Facilitator: Marg van Herk-Pardis
Date: May 12-13, 2020
Time: 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Location: Conrad Grebel University College
This workshop is designed to provide the Basic Mental Health First Aid certificate content, taught by conflict management practitioners, who are also trained Mental Health Commission of Canada instructors. There will be some time available during the fist two days to discuss content as it relates to conflict, however the information will form the basis of the third day, when conflict and mental health are explored in more depth.
As recognition of mental health challenges faced in society has grown, it is also important to have a better awareness and understanding of various aspects of how potential conflict situations are managed. This workshop will address such questions as, “How does mental health impact how we approach conflict?” and “What are strategies and tools that we can deploy to assist us and those with mental health in conflict situations?
