Fraser Lake
At Fraser Lake Camp your child will grow physically, spiritually, socially, and emotionally. Our 260-acre private property is located on a beautiful lake on the Canadian Shield and offers a variety of water and land activities. Each camper will have the opportunity to experience God in the outdoors, make new friends, and develop self confidence through learning new skills. Our camp staff are chosen for their ability to facilitate an inclusive and fun environment, and are committed to creating a safe space where all campers can flourish.

Fraser Lake offers an exciting program for kids ages 8-14 that keeps them coming back year after year! For our 15-17 year olds we offer leadership development programs that include a nine-day canoe trip through Algonquin Park, a Counsellor In Training program, and a volunteer program that gives youth required volunteer hours to graduate high school. We welcome all campers into another wonderful summer of fun and learning in the outdoors!

Hidden Acres is a place where God’s love is experienced through nature, friendship, laughter, learning, and worship. Children and youth leave this setting with a deeper knowledge and awareness of God and of their own significance and place in the world. Adults learn and grow in new ways regardless of their age, and young leaders safely test their giftings and stretch their comfort zones. It is a place where creation care is not only taught, but modeled in our facilities, programs, and policies.

During the summer Hidden Acres offers overnight co-ed camp programs for youths from 6 - 15, a week-long day camp and overnight basketball camp, two week-long sessions for low-income single mothers and their children, and two camp weeks for supported young adults with special needs. Throughout the year, our facilities are used by many diverse groups for retreats, reunions, conferences, and seminars, as churches, church-related organizations, schools, extended families, and a wide variety of community groups are drawn to this sacred space.

Silver Lake is a ministry of and to the Mennonite churches in eastern Canada offering programming throughout the year. With a primary focus on summer camp experiences for children, Silver Lake is a supportive and natural setting to explore issues relating to faith, peace, social justice, and environmental stewardship.

In addition to offering summer camp experiences, the property and facilities are used throughout the year for retreats by churches and other groups, as well as by schools for outdoor education.

In 1968, three Mennonite pastors in Toronto, Ontario, Glen Brubacher, Emerson McDowell, and Nickolas Dick, foresaw the creation of a camp for children and youth on a private, quiet piece of rural land where people could congregate in the great outdoors and healthy relationships could be nurtured with God.

It would be a rural experience and a farm experience all in one – yet it would be just minutes from the city. A 100-acre property was purchased in Stouffville and came to be  called Willowgrove, and in the following 48 years thousands of children and youth would travel to the site to participate in camping and outdoor education programs. Many would eventually become camp counselors. Others grew up, had families of their own, and sent their children to Willowgrove.

Today, Willowgrove is a not-for-profit organization affiliated with the Mennonite Church. We offer many ways to have great adventures in the great outdoors:

  • Day Camping, Outdoor Education programs for school groups, and Facility Rentals for family and church groups are offered at our Stouffville facility.
  • Overnight camping and a retreat facility is offered at our Fraser Lake Camp property in Bancroft, Ontario.
