Ministry Position at MCEC - Regional Ministers

Mennonite Church Eastern Canada (MCEC) is seeking three part-time Regional Ministers. These positions may begin as soon as October 2017 but will remain vacant until ideal candidates are selected. Each position is equivalent to 0.25 FTE.


The Regional Ministers serve the pastors and lay leaders of MCEC. They are responsible for supporting pastors and liaising with congregational leaders to promote spiritually vibrant and missional Anabaptist congregations.

The Regional Ministers will provide pastoral care to pastors and leaders including spiritual care and crisis support. They will attend Cluster Ministerials to connect with pastors to better understand their needs, and provide updates on MCEC's ministry and activities. They will also provide resources to assist and encourage pastors to attend to their own spiritual, mental and marital health. Regional Ministers will be especially involved during times of pastoral review and congregational transitions.

  • Demonstrated commitment to Anabaptist/Mennonite theology and practice, with a strong vision for leading the Mennonite Church and its ministers into more fully embracing the call to be a missional church
  • Ordination in good standing in the Mennonite Church
  • Master of Divinity Degree or equivalent
  • Experience in pastoral ministry is requred. Employment in other related working settings is an asset
