August 9thMCEC Appoints Myrna Miller Dyck as Regional Ministry Associate
Encouraging leaders of hope, vision and transformation
“I have a deep appreciation for the work that pastors do,” says Myrna Miller Dyck. “As a pastor myself, I have an understanding of how complex and wonderful it is. The work is ordinary and holy; it includes deep pain and brokenness but also great joy and laughter. All pastors need support and care in their work.”
MCEC is pleased to announce the appointment of Myrna Miller Dyck to the positon of Regional Ministry Associate (RMA). She joins regional ministry associates, Cathrin van Sintern-Dick and Stephen Reist, as a part of the church leadership team. The team resources pastors, chaplains and congregations throughout MCEC alongside Al Rempel, regional minister, and Marilyn Rudy-Froese, church leadership minister.
"The work is ordinary and holy; it includes deep pain and brokenness but also great joy and laughter."
Marilyn Rudy-Froese says, “Myrna is an experienced pastor, who brings lots of gifts to this ministry. She offers wisdom from her own experience and has a compassionate heart. As we spoke, it became clear that she has a good understanding of the nature of this role, as well as a vision for what it could be. We very much look forward to having her join the church leadership team!”
Myrna has previously served on the MCEC leadership council and currently coaches pastors in the MCEC Transitioning into Ministry (TiM) program, a program for pastors new or returning to MCEC. She was part of the pastoral team at Steinmann Mennonite Church, where she ministered for 16 years. More recently, she has served in a number of MCEC congregations as interim or supply pastor.
“I look forward to connecting with congregations and pastors in this new way,” Myrna says. “It is my hope that I can be a place of connection for them and a place where they feel supported in who they are and in the work that they do.”
Myrna and her husband, Tim, live in Baden, ON. She begins her ministry as Regional Ministry Associate on August 15, 2023. You can reach her at mmillerdyck@mcec.ca.
