Shalom Worship & Healing Centre, Windsor Joins MCEC

Happy New Year group!Shalom Worship & Healing Centre, Windsor worships at the home of Windsor Mennonite Fellowship. They are a congregation of approximately 50 people who actively engage in worship services and Bible studies and meet together for Sunday afternoon worship.

Since then, several families from Shalom Worship and Healing Centre in Kitchener have moved to Windsor to become a part of this new church family.

Even though Covid was a time of isolation and loneliness for many, some families in Windsor found it to be a time of fellowship and connection with a family of faith almost 300 kilometers away. Technology brought Eritrean families in Windsor together with Eritrean families in Kitchener. They worshipped together through online Zoom services. Since then, several families from Shalom Worship and Healing Centre in Kitchener have moved to Windsor to become a part of this new church family.

The leadership is committed to fostering an inclusive and welcome space for all to experience the transformative power of faith.

Following the lockdowns, the congregation established a rental relationship with Windsor Mennonite Fellowship where they continue to meet on Friday evenings and Sunday afternoons. Their leadership team includes: Yosef Gebrendrias (Pastor), Nathanael Haile (Teaching) and Dawit (Administration).

Shalom Church Windsor is a branch of Shalom Worship and Healing Centre, an MCEC congregation, and spreads a message of love and healing to their Windsor neighbours. The leadership is committed to fostering an inclusive and welcome space for all to experience the transformative power of faith.

Shalom Church Windsor has been accepted into provisional membership in MCEC by the Executive Council. They will be welcomed at the Annual Church Gathering in April 2024 in Leamington, ON.
