Our God in heaven, your name is holy. May your reign come, may your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
We pray for your will to be done this day, as delegates and guests gather online for Mennonite Church Eastern Canada’s annual meeting. Give open ears for listening. Give gracious words for speaking. Give wisdom for decision-making. Give strength for action flowing out of the decisions made this day.
O God, give us this day, and in the days to come, our daily bread—what we need, when we need it. Help us to trust in you for your provision—for us as individuals, as households, as congregations, as a regional church, as a nationwide church. Prompt generosity among us to meet these needs, as we seek to meet the needs of those around us.
God, you know we fall short of your will for us. We do not always love you with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. We do not always love our neighbours as ourselves. Forgive us these sins, as we forgive those who sin against us.
Save us, O God, during the times of trial that seem to press down upon us, and deliver us from evil—especially those most vulnerable to harm, among us and around us.
We commit all these things to you, knowing that the kingdom, the glory, and the power are yours, now and forever. Amen.
