What We Heard: MCEC Congregational Resource Survey

Thank you to all the congregations who completed our Resource Survey this past fall. Your responses were incredibly helpful—especially the updated contact information, which allows us to communicate more effectively with your leadership teams. Moving forward, we will send this survey out annually each September to keep our records current and ensure we’re responding to your needs. 

Many of you named active engagement with worship resources—hymnals, worship music, and Anabaptist materials from MennoMedia and CommonWord, while noting lower usage of recorded talks and political advocacy materials. Did you know that Canadians can order all Herald Press titles, Voices Together and the Anabaptist Community Bible through CommonWord Bookstore and Resource Centre? You can also explore CommonWord and Together in Worship for downloadable and free resources for your congregation. 

From your feedback, we’re encouraged to see that the resources we can provide are meeting congregational needs. We are especially grateful for the strong relational connections revealed in the survey: 87% of respondents connect with MCEC and MC Canada staff at least once a year, many monthly. Congregations expressed appreciation for support in pastoral searches, resourcing, guest preaching, workshops, leadership training and policy development. We have also heard your encouragement to nurture deeper connections between congregations. 

We come together to energize congregations in worship, discipleship and mission and encourage leaders of hope, vision and transformation. Through the MCEC Congregational Ministries Team, we continue to walk with congregations and leaders toward renewal and respond to requests.
