May 20th, 2021Podcast Discussion Forum with Kim Penner

What is the church that we are becoming? What holds us together?  Take some time reflecting on these questions and come ready to share your thoughts.

Kim Penner holds a PhD in Theology from St. Michael's College with the Toronto School of Theology. Her doctoral research is in Christian Ethics. Specifically, it considers the potential of Mennonite peace theology and discipleship ethics for the construction of a theo-ethics of embodiment and sexuality that is committed to the well-being of the most vulnerable members of the community of faith (i.e. those with the least access to ecclesial and social power). Kim lives with her partner Dylan, child Jackson, and cat Max in Waterloo and currently serves as a pastor at Stirling Ave. Mennonite Church.

About the Podcast Discussion Forums

Courageous Imagination is a journey that we are taking to listen for God and reflect on questions that will help to guide and shape the future direction of MCEC. The Podcast Discussion Forums are one way of providing a space that will allow us to hear and engage with each other and help shape how we move forward in our journey.  It is important that all voices are heard in a safe environment. We want to have conversations that are respectful and loving, being mindful of principles set at the beginning of the journey.
