Nov 2nd, 2024Challenge for the Church: Antisemitism
Antisemitism is a harmful reality in the world today. Christianity arose from Judaism, yet Christianity has a long history of antisemitism, and portions of Christian scriptures and practices over the centuries (including among Mennonites) have fostered antisemitism. The October 7 attacks by Hamas and the Israeli government’s military assault on Gaza have heightened and brought to the fore issues around antisemitism and Islamophobia in Canada.
This calls for a deeper examination of Mennonite thought and action. We invite churches to join us for this workshop on antisemitism, as well as a subsequent event being planned on Islamophobia.
