2025 J.J. Thiessen Lecture Series: A Sacred Way of Life: Theology as a Guide to Spirituality – CMU invites you to hear Dr. Kevin Hector from University of Chicago on October 21-22 at 11:00 AM and 7:00 PM on October 21 and at 11:00 AM on October 22 in the CMU Chapel. The lectures will explore spirituality through three forms of sacredness—transcendent value, beauty, and power— and examine how religion can play a crucial role in helping us hold these together. CommonWord Book Launch: Hearts of Freedom: Stories of Southeast Asian Refugees – Join us on Saturday, October 18, at 7:00 PM in Marpeck Commons for the launch of Hearts of Freedom by Peter Duschinsky, Colleen Lundy, Michael J. Molloy, Allan Moscovitch, and Stephanie Phetsamay Stobbe. This book gives voice to the lives and contributions of people who have suffered the worst excesses of war between 1975 and 1997 to rebuild their lives in Canada.
