Courageous Imagination Regional Gatherings

"We are on a journey of Courageous Imagination together looking at who God is calling us as a regional church body."

Leah Reesor-Keller

As the MCEC family of faith, we began the Courageous Imagination journey in February 2021 with an online prayer gathering full of hopefulness and humility. In April we explored the Courageous Imagination theme further by making kimchi together and reflecting on how we can grow as an Intercultural church at the Annual Gathering. In the Courageous Imagination Podcast we heard from different people sharing their experiences on different topics from across our family of faith. This fall we will be going deeper into discernment as we look towards shaping our new identity statements and strategic priorities.

Everyone is invited to MCEC Courageous Imagination Regional Gatherings in partnership with congregations in various regions. These gatherings will be a time of deep listening and sharing together as we look at where God is calling us together as a regional church. The questions that have guided our journey are:
  • How do we listen for God?
  • Where is God at work doing new things? Where have you experienced God at work?
  • Who are we together? What is the church that we are becoming?
  • How is God calling us as the church together?
  • How do you feel God is calling the church to respond and adapt to the changing local and global context?
Join the strategic planning discussion as we review the key themes and values that have been shared so far and look at draft identity statements and priority statements. This is a focused discussion grounded in scripture and worship.

All voices are important as we continue to discern and reflect together on the stories that our elders, young adults, older adults and children have shared this past year. Let’s continue the journey together! Register now to reserve a spot.
