Motions Passed at MCEC Annual Church Gathering 2026

The following motions were passed at the MCEC Annual Church Gathering.

Our annual general meeting is a vital gathering in the life of our church—a time when we come together as a community of faith to discern, discuss and make decisions that shape our shared ministry.

Delegates from congregations across our region play a crucial role in this work. Through prayerful conversation, reports, presentations and voting on key matters, delegates help chart the direction of our life together—ensuring that the voice of the wider church is heard and honored.

  1. MINUTES OF 2025 MCEC ANNUAL CHURCH GATHERING 
    That we accept the minutes of the 38th annual meeting of Mennonite Church Eastern Canada, held April 26, 2025.
  2. EXECUTIVE COUNCIL ACTIONS 2025-2026 
    That we approve all actions taken by the MCEC Executive Council for the year April 26, 2025 - April 25, 2026.
  3. AUDITED FINANCIAL STATEMENTS FYE JANUARY 2026
    That we accept the audited financial statements for the fiscal year ending January 31, 2026.
  4. FINANCIAL AUDITOR
    That we appoint E.M. Simon CPA Professional Corporation as auditors for the fiscal year ending January 31, 2027.
  5. MCEC SPENDING PLAN 2026-2027
    That we accept the 2026 - 2027 spending plan as presented.
  6. MCEC BYLAW UPDATES
    That MCEC’s “General Operating Bylaw No. 4” be amended as presented.
  7. SLATE 2026-2027
    That we accept the 2026 - 2027 slate as presented.
