Renewing Our Anabaptist Peace Theology Together

Renewing Our Anabaptist Peace Theology Together
- How might Mennonites respond to rising nationalism and increased defense spending?
- What does it mean to pursue Christ’s peace faithfully within our local communities today?
This presents a meaningful opportunity for renewal—grounding ourselves again in Scripture and in the rich theological heritage entrusted to us.
Congregations who are sensing this same desire to revisit and renew their understanding of peace are warmly invited to connect with Fanosie Legesse.
To support congregations in this work, Fanosie Legesse, MCEC Intercultural Minister, is available to share, teach and facilitate conversation. He is a careful and thoughtful student of the Bible, as well as a gifted communicator. His perspective is profoundly shaped by personal experience, having grown up in a context of communist-inspired violence where, at a young age, he faced the life-altering question of whether he would take up arms. This lived experience, combined with his theological reflection, brings depth, humility and authenticity to his teaching.
Congregations who are sensing this same desire to revisit and renew their understanding of peace are warmly invited to connect with Fanosie. Whether for a Sunday message, teaching series or facilitated dialogue, his presence can help nurture thoughtful, faithful engagement with these important questions.
