Competency Examen
Listening for God's Presence on the Pastoral Journey
The Competency Examen is a unique self-reflection tool specifically designed for pastors. It is a five-step process based on the Ignatian prayer form known as the consciousness examen. Intercultural Ministry is not part of the Examen and can also be seen and explored in each of the other Competencies, yet we want to encourage leaders to explore this ministry intentionally.
As an individual, the Competency Examen can be used as a basis for monthly prayer and discernment.
The Competency Examen can also be used in conjunction with peer-to-peer conversation or in small-group meetings.
